Australia and Canada handle imported parcels differently — but if you order from us, the outcome is the same in both: one all-in price, and nothing extra to pay when your order arrives.

The short version: We ship DDP — Delivered Duty Paid. Australian GST and Canadian duty + GST/HST are already included in your checkout total. No border invoice, no courier brokerage bill.

Australia: GST is built in

Australia charges 10% GST on low-value imported goods (consignments valued at A$1,000 or less), and a registered overseas seller adds it at checkout — not the courier at the border. Orders above A$1,000 are assessed for GST and duty on import. Under A$1,000, goods are generally free of customs duty, but GST still applies.

With us, that GST is already included in your total, so there’s nothing extra to settle on delivery.

Canada: a very low threshold — which is why DDP matters

Canada’s duty-free threshold for courier parcels is only CA$20 (higher limits apply only to shipments from the U.S. and Mexico). For a parcel from Japan, that means most orders would normally attract duty, plus GST/HST of roughly 5–15% depending on your province — and couriers typically add a brokerage / handling fee (often CA$10–20+) on top.

That’s exactly the "surprise fee at the door" scenario. Because we ship DDP, we prepay the Canadian duty and sales tax, so you don’t get a customs invoice or a courier brokerage bill.

DDP — Delivered Duty Paid, direct from Tokyo. Whether you’re in Australia or Canada, the tax and duty are already in your total.

What this means for you, in practice

  • Your checkout total is final — in both Australia and Canada.
  • No border invoice or courier brokerage bill.
  • No "pay to release" messages. Ignore any suspicious "customs fee" text.
  • Same discreet packaging, direct from Japan.

Frequently asked questions

Australia: will GST be added on delivery?

No. We ship DDP, so the 10% GST is already included in your checkout total. Nothing extra to pay when it arrives.

Canada: will I get a duty + brokerage bill?

No. Because Canada’s CA$20 threshold is so low, most Japan parcels would normally be charged — but we prepay the duty and GST/HST under DDP, so there’s no customs invoice or brokerage fee for you.

I got a message asking me to pay a customs or brokerage fee. Is that from you?

No. A genuine Onaholestore order never results in one. Treat it as suspicious and don’t click the link.

What if my order is high value?

For higher-value orders we still calculate and include the applicable taxes and duty in your total, so your price stays all-in.

The bottom line

Australia and Canada both tax imported parcels — and Canada’s threshold is especially low. With Onaholestore, either way, it means nothing extra for you. One price. No surprises. Delivered.
